17. Actions to Be Taken
In Case of Bleeding Injury
a. If the cut is small, follow
these steps.
1) Inform the parent(s).
Show the wound but do not touch the wound until your hands have been washed.
2) Wash your hands.
3) Wash the wound thoroughly
with soap and water.
4) Cover the wound with a
bandage, being careful not to touch the gauze area with your fingers.
b. If the wound is bleeding
heavily and/or the injury is extensive, take the following measures.
1) Have the victim
lie down.
2) Have someone contact the
police, fire, or emergency squad.
3) Control the bleeding by
applying pressure to pressure points.
